Singer-songwriters Mike & Carleen McCornack have been delighting audiences for over fifty years with an engaging musical style that blends clear, expressive, harmonious vocals with sparkling acoustic instrumental accompaniments. Their wide-ranging repertoire includes many critically-acclaimed original compositions. They have released ten albums during their career: Possibilities; Live On Earth; Beasties, Bumbershoots & Lullabies; Sunshine Cake; High Hopes; A Road To Call Your Own; Ready For Christmas, Stories We Could Tell, Dream True, and their most recent, Days Like Today.

Themes of love, humor, respect for living things and natural beauty fill their performances and Mike and Carleen have proven equally at home performing for families who know them from their award-winning children’s recordings (Parent’s Choice Gold Award winners and Parent’s Guide Honors!) and for adults who appreciate their musical depth and off-center humor.

Mike and Carleen own and operate Garden Variety Productions, Garden Variety Record Company, and McTate Music, their publishing company. For more information see the Contact page.

“Beautiful melodies, great musicians. Pure heartfelt vocals all blended together into music that will leave you smiling in your heart.”

Bill Staines

“Mike and Carleen kept our audience laughing, crying and singing throughout their show. With exquisite guitar work and wonderful harmony, they instantly connected with our standing room only audience.   With a combination of original, cover songs, Doc Watson instrumentals and great audience interaction, they got a standing ovation at end of their second set.  Highly recommend, that anyone who has a chance, to immediately book this couple.  They will be the highlight of your season!”

“Homespun humor, harmonies and heart”

Phil Ward, Singer-Songwriter-Humorist

“The songs are wonderful and the recording is so meticulous, just exquisite.  I love their voices too, very sweet harmonies, beautifully expressive singing and their original songs are very fine as well.  I’m very proud of what they’ve done with Darcy Farrow. It’s one of the nicest versions we’ve had.”

Steve Gillette, Songwriter

“What stands out, are the competent vocals of this duo. Their vocals are deep and rich and come across beautifully whether in harmony or solo. If you’re in the mood for joyful and pleasing music, the McCornacks won’t disappoint you.”

Steve Hooks, What’s Happening, Eugene Oregon

“This Oregon-based duo avoids the syrupy sweetness that many children’s artists dish up. Parents and children alike will thoroughly enjoy their songs, with their well-crafted music and intelligent lyrics.”
