Hayden.<br \/>Phone lines down, there\u2019s nowhere to go,<br \/>Stranded above and below our Blue River homes.<\/p>\n<p>They drove up the valley, engulfed with the flames,<br \/>Sounding the sirens and calling out names.<br \/>We\u2019re overrun, you gotta go,<br \/>Leave everything that you own and your Blue River home.<\/p>\n<p>Pianos and pictures and art turned to embers,<br \/>And all of the treasures kept to remember.<br \/>A simple life, all we owned,<br \/>Gone in the dark of the night with our Blue River homes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Mothers and Fathers and sons and daughters,<br \/>Lived on the banks of this cold blue water.<br \/>Houses and barns and trees are all gone,<br \/>Like the river they\u2019ll return where they belong, McKenzie strong.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>The burn blackened hillsides and tinder dry timber.<br \/>Nothing could stop it when it reached Blue River.<br \/>Across the treetops and the asphalt roads.<br \/>Chimneys were all that was left of our Blue River home.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a9 <em>2021 Carleen McCornack\/McTate Music.
