Our Online Store is Now Live!

Starting October 2021 you can now buy our CDs directly from us, online! Check out our store pages, where all of our CDs are available for purchase. We are currently in the process of setting up digital download sales as well. Watch this space for more information.

As independent artists, we rely on CD sales for our recording income. In the past, we have sold our CDs through CD Baby and Amazon. CD Baby is no longer offering CD sales from their site. Amazon does, but you might be surprised to learn (or not) that Amazon’s cut is very high, in some cases we have lost money selling through Amazon. Know that any sales that occur on this site go directly to us, no middlemen involved, with the exception of a small service charge for secure online payment processing. In the US, we will cover shipping charges as well. What a deal!

And of course, if you are a music streamer, you can always find our music on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon streaming, among others.

We’re Adding a Store

You may have noticed (we certainly have) that physical CDs are gradually becoming harder to purchase as the world of music media gravitates towards streaming and online video. Many of the outlets that used to carry our music are no longer selling CDs, and with the current pandemic conditions, we aren’t out in the world performing and selling the music at our gigs. What’s a band to do?
Well, we’re going to go back to something we used to do in the early days of the Internet; we’re going to resurrect our online music store, right here on gardenvarietymusic.com! Be looking for our online store by the first part of August, 2020. Transactions will be handled by PayPal, so you know that part will be as secure as we’ve come to expect from that venerable institution.
See you in our store, soon!

Goodbye, gardenvariety.com. Hello, gardenvarietymusic.com!

As of July 9, 2018, we have moved our website from our old domain name, gardenvariety.com. That name is going to new owners, and we wish them well. We’re excited to have a more descriptive name, gardenvarietymusic.com, as our new home on the web. As always, you can always find us on Facebook as well, at www.facebook.com/MikeCarleenMcCornack. We will be making more changes here in the days and weeks to come, especially as we finish up our new album, Dream True, which will be finished end of summer 2018. Watch this space for more details!

Still Us – New Name!

Welcome to gardenvarietymusic.com, the new home of Garden Variety Productions and Mike & Carleen McCornack! We are in the process of leaving our old home, gardenvariety.com, which is going to new users. Please bookmark the new site, and we look forward to more great music and great fun!

Drift Inn in Yachats

We had a wonderful time playing with Dale Bradley at the Drift Inn in Yachats, Oregon on June 24, 2017. Gretchen and the entire staff are always a pleasure to work with, and the crowds always seem to be in a good mood. This was especially true for this weekend, where the temperatures were in the high 70s and low 80s, with very little wind (this is the Oregon Coast?). We took our yellow lab Gracie with us, and she (and we) got to romp on the beach before the gig. It was a glorious weekend.

One of the special side benefits of the gig was a wonderful anonymous drawing we found in our tip jar at the end of the night. We would love to meet the artist some day! We thought it was a pretty good likeness of the band.
